Project 1 (for Hoosiers and other Midwesterners)
Those of who travel thru Indiana on I-80-94/I-94 from the Illinois state line to the Michigan state line, much more so eastbound more than westbound but still some westbound, have seen all these pot billboards. They are on other roads in the region, like U.S. 20. They may be on I-65 but since I seldom travel on that stretch, I can't say for sure. If you see any there, or on any other stretch in Indiana (they're even in Illinois, despite pot shops already existent a hop, skip and jump away), e-mail us with the info where and if possible, which shop (if any) is advertised. If possible, see if you can also get the name of the billboard firm hosting the ad. There are at least 50 I personally have been able to count.
As I travel thru this region, particularly eastbound, it is virtually impossible to avoid seeing these Satan inspired shops. I am in my mid 60s and I have never seen anything like this. It is insane and yes, I believe it is insanely demonic, considering that Indiana is a state that, though relatively conservative, is a hub for both human and drug traffickers. Heroin is especially a problem, along with fentanyl, and of course the others - marijuana, crack cocaine and meth. These billboard facilitate the traffickers, even if pot is verboten within Indiana's borders.
Anyone seeing these billboards have likely seen the others which have become an eyesore in Indiana, primarily the Lerner & Rowe law firm and Midwest Express Clinics. However, these are legitimate business advertisers. Cannabis advertisers are illegit by virtue of their business and their evil intent to create drug zombies. They are illegal in Indiana and as far as I'm concerned, they are illegally operating within Indiana's borders by their vicious attempts to hoodwink and hook druggies across the border to New Buffalo, Michigan. Weed operators may be legal in "impure" Michigan. But by virtue of the ads in Indiana, they are illicitly operating there as their goal is obviously to entice Hoosiers to exit at Exit 1 in Michigan and buy their devices, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Their shops must be shut down.
We are currently looking for a billboard to purchase to put up this site and draw the Christian community as well as those who want to become Christians and become part of this important work of God. While we are open where this billboard shall go, we are zeroing in on this region where pot promotion abounds.
We have looked into the companies hosting the billboards and unfortunately nearly all of them (one exception we have found) are in the vicinity of the pot shops. This makes putting up a billboard most challenging because these pot shops, like the industry, have obscenely deep pockets and will pressure the companies to remove our billboard once they find out we are targeting them. But we will not be deterred. We will get our message out there somehow. If nothing else, we will be sending mailers thru churches in the region and we'll see if we can galvanize them to act. However, that may be easier said than done. Lots of houses of God are reticent in getting involved in thorny issues seen as political. However, this is not political. Many pot users are casualties today.
But when human lives are at risk by the pot and other drug peddlers, we cannot stand or sit still. Matt. 5:13-16 calls for us to be light and salt to wherever we go. And that is a mandate from the Lord, not an option. Evil flourishes when good people do nothing. And there are many good Hoosiers (and others) who must act.
We have written Indiana officials to stop the proliferation of pro-weed billboards since it is illegal in Indiana and await replies from the Senate president, House majority leader, a state senator who represents a portion of the region, Attorney General Todd Rokita and Gov. Mike Braun and will post what they say if and when they respond (none have yet done so). The legislature is adjourned til January and the only way to get them back is to call for a special session to meet and address this serious problem. That lies in the hands of Gov. Braun. Click here to see what he has to say about something he doesn't appear to be too serious on.
Indiana authorities and officials know full well that certain regions of the state are hotbeds for drug traffickers and users and thus a significant blight on the overall Indiana culture and way of life. They must be removed. But until they are, this site is going to be a light thru this darkness and oppression and we will pray unwaveringly and unceasingly til these billboards are pulled and ultimately all pot shops in New Buffalo, Michigan are shut down. Every. Single. One. Anything less is entirely unacceptable and we won't be deterred, no matter how long it takes to remove this evil. Greater is He in us than he who's in the world - I John 4:4.
